The Safari Bubble Cover attaches at 2 points. Straps attach to the front crosstubes on either side. The strap attachment buckles are made of non-metal Delrin, designed for rugged outdoor use. Both the top and bottom hems of the cover have a special rope-hem feature with which they can be tightened to insure a perfect guarantee against wind-blown chaffing. For ease of installation, bubble covers are color-coded (red=left, green=right) with color swatches sewn into the corners.

Bubble Covers are made of nylon Silver Laminate. Bruce's Custom Covers developed Silver Laminate especially for aircraft protection. The outer material is a medium weight nylon treated for ultraviolet resistance and anti-static buildup. The inner lining is brushed nylon tricot knit. Silver Laminate is extremely reflective. Tests show that the cabin interior temperature can be reduced by as much as 25 degrees. It is water, ice and snow repellent, yet it is breathable enough to allow moisture to escape from between the cover and the windshield surface. Silver Laminate contains no hydrocarbon compounds which can harm plexiglass windshields and acrylic finishes.

Engine Covers enclose the engine area from the firewall aft to the tail boom. This cover encloses the sides of the engine area, forming a "tent" structure. A collar encloses the rotor mast, closing with Velcro to the forward edge of the cover, next to the firewall. Straps attach to the front and rear struts, and a belly strap goes under the tail boom farther aft. Delrin buckles are used to tighten the attachment straps. The hem of the cover contains bungee cord to help keep it tight. The engine cover is made of heavy weight nylon, available in a variety of colors. The cover is running light color-coded.

The Tailboom Cover overlaps with the engine cover and fastens with buckles along the bottom edge. It encloses the tail rotor drive shaft, control cables, beacon and overall tailboom structure. The tailboom cover is made of medium weight nylon, and is available in a variety of colors.

Rotor Hub Covers overlap with the engine and blade covers to insure complete protection for the entire rotor system. Like the engine covers, they are made of heavy weight nylon and fasten securely with Velcro and Delrin buckles. There are several variations in the rotor mast and hub designs on Safari models. Some measurements and photos may be required.

Blade Covers are sewn of medium weight nylon pack cloth. Cut "full" to avoid trim tab damage, blade covers can be installed from the ground with the aid of lightweight rope which is attached to the open end. Covers are cinched tight at the blade root with straps and Delrin buckles. A small opening at the tip of the cover allows for some air circulation and drainage. For operations in extremely cold weather, blade covers are available with full length zippers "boots" designed to accept a pre-heater hose.

Blade Tie-Downs are "socks" which fit over the blade tip with or without blade covers installed. The rear blade tie-down has a single length of rope which ties to the boom. The front blade tie-down has two lengths of rope which attach to the front struts on either side of the bubble.

Tail Rotor and Gearbox Covers are available as separate covers or as a one-piece design. The tail rotor cover is a one-piece design which encloses both blades and their hub, snapping closed along the bottom edge. The tail rotor cover can be made with an extension to cover the gearbox, or a seperate gearbox cover is available. Made of medium weight nylon, tabs have been sewn into the tips of the tail rotor cover so that it may be tied down in high winds.
