Bruce's Custom Covers Technical Sheet
British Aerospace Hawker 400 & 600

Tri-Fold Engine Cover with storage bag (shown on Lear 30)

HS-125 WINDSHIELD COVERS are made of nylon Silver Laminate, a two-ply laminate developed by Bruce's Custom Covers especially for aircraft protection. The outer material is a medium weight nylon treated for ultraviolet resistance and anti-static buildup. The inner lining is brushed nylon tricot knit. This material is extremely reflective. Tests show that the cabin interior temperature can be reduced by as much as 25 degrees. Silver Laminate is water, ice and snow repellent, yet it is breathable enough to allow moisture to escape from between the cover and the windshield surface. Silver Laminate contains no hydrocarbon compounds which can harm plexiglass windshields and acrylic finishes.

The cover encloses the windshield and side windows. It extends down along the sides to cover the pitot tubes and angle of attack indicators on most models. It attaches with three adjustable belly straps utilizing non-metal buckles. The cover is trimmed to match the colors of the airplane. A duffle bag, also color trimmed, is included with the cover. For an extra charge the N-number can be imprinted onto the cover.

HS-125 TRI-FOLD RING INTAKE/EXHAUST COVERS are designed to install easily yet be completely storable. A spring steel hoop is sewn into the hem of each cover, allowing them to be installed without climbing onto the wing or using a stepladder. To store the covers the spring steel hoop folds like a band-saw blade into three nesting rings. Each cover folds into a compact circular bundle which is stored in the included duffle bag, yet they unfold quickly for use. The Tri-Fold Ring cover is made of medium weight nylon which is available in a variety of colors to match the paint trim. Each cover set comes complete with installation and folding instructions. The aircraft's registration number can be silkscreened onto the cover for an extra charge.

eNGINE COVERS ARE AVAILABLE IN A VARIETY OF COLORS: RED, ROYAL BLUE, NAVY BLUE, MAROON, GREEN, ORANGE, SILVER, SMOKE, & BLACK.

Installation of the cover requires that 4 snap-head screws be placed on the underside of the support pylon in existing screw holes. Complete installation, folding and care instructions and parts are included with each cover. The snaps on the cover are placed on straps which are adjustable in length for a perfect fit. To install the covers, first install the intake cover, snapping the inboard strap in place. Adjust this strap for proper fit. Next install the exhaust cover and snap it on the same way. Attach the outboard strap and adjust it for tightness.

Engine plugs for Viper engines are "pillows" sewn of sturdy synthetic fabric, stuffed with single blocks of urethane foam through back panel zippers. The intake plugs are made of NaugahydeŞ heavy-duty vinyl. Two webbing handles are sewn onto the face of the plug to make installation and removal easy. A "REMOVE BEFORE FLIGHT" streamer is sewn onto the face. The registration number of the aircraft can be silkscreened onto the plugs for an additional charge. Exhaust plugs are similar in construction, except the back and side pieces of the plugs are made of heat resistant material.

Pitot tube covers, made of Naughahyde vinyl, are designed to cover the entire pitot assembly. Slipping on over the tube, the cover tightens around the base with a special Velcro strap detail. A warning streamer is attached to the cover.

Non-burning Pitot Covers are designed to withstand more than 500 degrees F., preventing damage to the pitot tube if the pitot heat is turned on while it is covered.

HeatShields are interior reflectors which are intended as temporary relief against heat buildup in the cockpit or cabin interior. The do keep the interior about as cool as exterior covers, but they can take longer to install and do nothing to protect the plexiglas or to prevent damage caused by leaks. Also, in aircraft equipped with laminated windshields, they may cause damage to those windshields because of excessive heat buildup near the glass.

Our HeatShield material is a special laminate of metallized polyester film, laminated to a thin sheet of closed-cell foam. It is thinner than bubble-pack type reflectors, and has extremely good reflective and insulating qualities.

Where an exterior cover is not considered practical by the operator, a HeatShield is often the best solution for cabin protection.
