The Forward Canopy Cover is designed to cover the windshield, side windows and nose. The cover attaches to the airframe in four locations. At the lower corners on either side, straps attach to tie rings near the landing gear struts. At the upper corners a strap goes around the forward rotor mast. These straps are secured and tightened with non-metal, durable Delrin buckles, sewn onto the cover at the attach points. Pockets are sewn into the cover to accommodate temperature probe, pitot and antennae placements. Extra reinforcement is added to the cover in the windshield wiper area. The canopy cover is available in a variety of colors, all featuring a soft lining on the underside.

Our standard material, Silver Laminate is a proprietary material developed especially for aircraft protection. The outer material is a medium weight nylon treated for ultraviolet resistance and anti-static buildup. The inner lining is brushed nylon tricot knit. Silver Laminate is extremely reflective. Tests show that the cabin interior temperature can be reduced by as much as 25 degrees F. It is water, ice and snow repellent, yet it is breathable enough to allow moisture to escape from between the cover and the windshield surface. Silver Laminate contains no hydrocarbon compounds which can harm plexiglass windshields and acrylic finishes.

The Special Op's Windshield/Nose Cover is similar in design to the standard Windshield/Nose Cover except that it also has special-fit pockets for the Radar and Flir domes, and allows the refuel boom to pass through. Most of the covers of this type are made of a special nylon which has a soft nylon lining laminated to the inner surface.

Windshield and Skylight HeatShields are made of Mylar Laminate, a metallized film laminated to a thin sheet of closed cell foam. This material is extremely reflective and posseses excellent insulating properties. Skylight HeatShields install simply by placing them next to the interior side of each skylight. No Velcro of other fasteners are required to hold them in place.
